List of 23 Endangered Animal Original Indonesia


     Has threatened status issued by the IUCN Redlist (2012), 
there were 73 animals native to Indonesia who are in the highest  status Critically Endangered status (Critical), 170 species status Endangered (Threatened) and 523 species status Vulnerable (Vulnerable).

73 species (and subspecies) status of Critically Endangered animals are endangered it can not be denied is the rare animal in Indonesia which is increasingly difficult to find. And of that amount I put randomly among 23 species of animals. Here is a list of 23 Animal Indonesia.

1. Javanese rhino


Javan rhinoceros (Rhinoceros sondaicus); Also referred to as the one-horned rhino, Javan endemic animals can only be found in Ujung Kulon National Park (Bantam) with a population of only 35 to 45 of the tail (the results of rhino census 2011).

2.Tree Kangaroo illustration Wondiwoi (Dendrolagus mayri)


Tree kangaroo Wondiwoi (Dendrolagus mayri) or Wondiwoi Tree-kangaroo; One type of tree kangaroos from Papua's population is expected to reach 50 per course.

3.The dolphins


The dolphins (Orcaella brevirostris) or Irrawaddy Dolphin; Is a unique freshwater mammals. In Indonesia living in the Mahakam River with a population of about 70 individuals.

4.Javan leopard or Leopard


Javan leopard (Panthera pardus) or Javan Leopard; Also called Tiger Beetle with its population is estimated under 250 individuals (IUCN 2008).

5.Sumatran rhino


Sumatran rhino (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis) or Sumatran Rhinoceros; Is a two-horned rhino population is estimated at no more than 275 individuals.

6.Leucocephalon yuwonoi (Sulawesi forest turtle)


Sulawesi forest turtle (Leucocephalon yuwonoi) or Sulawesi Forest Turtle; Turtle endemic to Sulawesi were never listed as The World's 25 Most Endangered Tortoises and Freshwater Turtles of 2011 with a population of less than 250 individuals.

7.eagle Flores



Eagle Flores (Nisaetus florists) or Flores Hawk-Eagle; Hawk endemic Flores with a population of between 150-300 individuals.

8.Bawean deer



Bawean deer (Axis kuhlii) or Bawean Deer; Deer endemic to the island of Bawean, East Java. The population is between 250-300 animals (Semiadi 2004).

Sumatran ground cuckoo (Carpococcyx viridis) or Sumatran Ground Cuckoo; Bird endemic to Sumatra with a population of around 70-400 individuals.

10.Red frog or toad Fire National Wildlife 
Red frog


Red Frogs (Leptophryne cruentata) or Bleeding Toad; Is endemic frog that lives only in the Mist Mountain TN and TN-Salak Gede Pangrango. The population is not known.

15.Siau tarsier (Tarsius tumpara) or Siau Island Tarsier;


 Population 1,300 (2009).
Mentawai macaque (Macaca pagensis) or Pagai Island macaque; Population tail 2100-3700 (2004).








16.Sumatran elephant (Elephas maximus ssp. Sumatranus) or Sumatran Elephant; 


Population between 2400-2800 (2007).










17.The Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii) or Sumatran orangutan; 


Population 6,500 tails (2007).


















18.Simakobu (Simias concolor) or Pig-tailed Langur; 

Population 6700 to 17,300 birds (IUCN, 2006)











19.Yellow-crested Cockatoo


Small Yellow-crested Cockatoo (Cacatua sulphurea) or Yellow-crested Cockatoo; A population of about 7,000.








20.Javan Lapwing bird (Vanellus macropterus) or Javan Lapwing;
